Nov. 12--Being a huge state school surrounded by a booming urban population has University of Central Florida officials wondering if it's time for a major medical school to be built in Orlando.
"When you look at population centers like Orlando, there's few this size that don't have a medical school," said Pappachan E. Kolattukudy, director of UCF's Biomolecular Science Center and chair of the Department of Molecular Biology and Microbiology. "The opportunity is here."
