Nov. 12--Gas prices have dropped to their lowest levels since July, giving motorists a much-needed reprieve as many plan to hit the road this holiday season.
Fuel experts say the downward trend in prices is expected to continue through December -- even as demand intensifies heading into Thanksgiving and Christmas. But they also warn that the nation's gasoline inventories are lower than they were a year ago, so prices could change direction if the supply is disrupted.
Still, the chances of gasoline prices setting another record this year are slim.
