Dec. 5--Computer programs in Thailand are protected under the Copyright Act of Thailand. The computer industry and the global economy have grown substantially since the Act in its present form was enacted in 1994. The following is a summary of the law as it stands today and a brief discussion of some of the issues raised when applying the present day Act to modern industry.

A person infringes a copyrighted computer program by reproducing, adapting or disseminating the program to the public or by offering the original or a copy of it for rent without licence. In addition, the law provides penalties for infringement whenever someone commits the following acts with ...
