Dec. 3--The Thai Gems and Jewellery Traders Association (TGJTA) yesterday announced bold initiatives to enable Thailand to topple Hong Kong as Asia's leading jewel centre in three years.
The plan, outlined by TGJTA president Narong,Thamavaranukup, includes a roadmap to strengthen the world's recognition of Thailand as a source of high-quality gem and jewellery.
"In Asia, only Thailand and Hong Kong have been well recognised among international jewellery traders and we will soon become number one in Asia's jewellery market," he said.
To achieve the goal, Thai traders have to reach out to potential customers. ...
