Dec. 3--Last week we introduced the notion of using a checklist as the foundation for improving your supply chain management. Before diving into the content of the Oliver Wight ABCD Checklist, we will first outline how to make best use of such a tool.
The best way to use a Checklist is as a vision of what could exist in your company, and then pursue it aggressively, systematically and relentlessly. Some companies, however, use a checklist merely as a results indicator in the later stages of an implementation programme. While beneficial, this does little to ensure continuous improvement.
