Dec. 29--Continued growth and the start of the largest construction project since its beginning is in the forecast for the Port of Anchorage for the next year.
The port broke a record in 2003 with more than four million tons of goods crossing the dock for the first time in the port's history.
"This is a real milestone for us," said Kevin Bruce, director of communication and business development for the port.
The port experienced a 4 percent growth over the past year.
Officials at the port are expecting another year of growth in 2004, although to a slightly lesser degree as 2003. They are forecasting about a 2.5 percent growth next year, ...
