AKRON, Ohio _ LeBron James won a court battle Wednesday, but his future as a high school basketball player remains in doubt.
A Summit County common pleas judge granted James' request for a temporary restraining order, reinstating his eligibility that was stripped by the Ohio High School Athletic Association last week.
"We believe the court order and the argument we presented confirmed that the ineligibility ruling should have never occurred in the first place," James' attorney Fred Nance said during a news conference at his firm's Cleveland offices.
"There is relief on the part of LeBron and Gloria (James, LeBron's mother) that LeBron is going to be able to finish what he started, which is trying to win a state championship and playing to be the No. 1 basketball team in the country."
