DETROIT _ The Lions' avowed interest in Steve Mariucci apparently has caused former Minnesota coach Dennis Green to lose interest in the vacant head coaching job.

"I think he'd be interested if he felt he was the Lions' first choice," Gary O'Hagen, Green's agent, said Wednesday.

But, because O'Hagen is in the unusual position of representing both Green and Mariucci, he has gotten the impression from Lions president Matt Millen that Mariucci is the coach the Lions want.

"It's the Lions' choice who they want to talk to first, second, third, fourth," O'Hagen said. "It seems to me like Steve is the first choice." …
