Phoenix _ A man accustomed to doing four things at once, Ulice Payne had no trouble mixing his messages Thursday while addressing the Milwaukee Brewers. He told them to win their division.

This wasn't exactly an order, but it was much more than a suggestion, and there were no reports of players fainting or dissolving in helpless laughter. The new president commands respect here, even if his words might cause some confusion back home.

Can this be the same Ulice Payne who's asking the fans for patience while the Brewers try to wipe 10 years worth of egg off their faces? Unless there were two 6-foot-6 chief executives running around …
