Welsh rock trio White Noise and rap/dance collective K-Diff Syndicate are among six unsigned acts which have been awarded a recording and distribution package in the first round of the PRS Foundation's new initiative to nurture British musical talent.
The society has teamed up with retailer Fopp and Clear Sound & Vision to create the scheme, titled Unsigned, to help new bands record, mix, master, press and distribute their music. Each package is worth in the region of 2,000 [pounds sterling].
"Unsigned is offering practical opportunities for new bands and songwriters to progress their professional careers," says PRS Foundation manager David Francis.
Each of the acts' product will be distributed via Fopp's chain of 14 stores, which will also give the bands the opportunity of promoting their releases with in-store performances.
