The sweet smell of success is the aroma in Marco Cossio's kitchen.
Cossio, 32, received an American Culinary Federation gold medal for his ballerina-themed dessert at the Las Vegas Culinary Challenge in the Pastry Masterpiece Competition at Mandalay Bay in April.
Cossio works as a pastry finisher for Ark Restaurants, which owns and operates restaurants in Las Vegas, including Gallagher's Steakhouse at New York-New York, Tsunami Asian Grill at The Venetian and the Saloon Bar and Grill downtown. Ark also has restaurants in New York, Florida and Washington, D.C.
