Ferrari's Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher falls just short of golfer Tiger Woods in the latest Forbes magazine Celebrity 100 rich list, which ranks incomes in sports and the arts. The list puts Woods' and Schumacher's annual incomes at $80.3 million and $80 million, respectively. Forbes lists the pair as tied for fourth place behind film actor/director Mel Gibson, talk show host Oprah Winfrey and Harry Potter author JK Rowling.

Honchos from the Champ Car World Series might be talking peace and healing regarding the IRL, but they are pressing on with efforts to reassert Champ Car's status as a viable commercial entity: Series co-owner Kevin Kalkhoven, Emerson Fittipaldi and British rookie Justin Wilson went to this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed in England. A highly successful venture capitalist with plenty of disposable income, Kalkhoven wanted to check out some cool old cars. But he also planned meetings with the European press to "discuss his visions for North America's most challenging open-wheel racing series.''
