The move prompted Wacker Chemical Corp., which seeks to buy Exolon and take it private, to file a lawsuit Dec. 31 challenging the removal.
Exolon-ESK makes abrasive products and employs about 150 locally. Half of the company is owned by Wacker Chemical, based in Williamsburg, Va. The other half is publicly traded on the Boston Stock Exchange.
