Jul. 6--Global interest in Phuket residences is growing rapidly, with purchases totalling 2.7 billion baht made by overseas buyers in the last 12 months. The figure is likely to grow by a further 20 percent by the end of this year, according to David Simister, managing director of the property consulting firm CB Richard Ellis (Thailand).
He said that about 20 percent of the purchasers came from Hong Kong and 10 percent from Singapore. The rest were from the US, Australia, northern Europe, Russia and Kazakhstan.
