Jul. 6--Beer Thai (1991), the producer of Chang beer, will soon launch a sister brand called Archa (horse), a response of sorts to Thai Asia Pacific Brewery's plans to announce the debut of Tiger Beer in Thailand today.
After lengthy research into the new product, Beer Thai finally decided to launch Archa to compete with Tiger, the best-selling brand in Singapore, which is due to appear on the Thai market this month, according to an industry source.
Archa is expected to sell for about 25 baht a bottle, cheaper even than Chang, which sold for 100 baht for three 640cc bottles at its launch, said the source.
