Jul. 5--The government is considering increasing foreign aid to neighbouring countries by another six billion baht, following the previous approval of a three-billion-baht assistance programme.
Finance Ministry officials said the new assistance would be structured as soft loans to Burma, Laos and Cambodia under a project aimed at strengthening economic ties within the region.
Authorities hope that by offering development aid, Thailand in turn will benefit from a larger potential market to export goods and services to in the future.
