Jul. 5--A career change can be a stressful event for anyone, particularly for civil servants making the jump to the private sector.
Just ask Prasarn Trairatvorakul, the president of Kasikornbank.
More than a few eyebrows were raised when Kbank chief executive Banthoon Lamsam tipped Dr Prasarn to take up the helm of the 59-year-old bank. A career central banker and securities regulator, Dr Prasarn went from overseeing a staff of 400 at the Securities and Exchange Commission to a 10,000-strong organisation.
Three months into his posting, Dr Prasarn says the challenges at his new job have been everything that he had expected.
