2004 JUL 5 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- France's government, looking to plug a gaping multi-billion euro (dollar) hole in the health insurance system, presented proposals June 16, 2004, to restore it to financial health.
President Jacques Chirac said the proposed reform "guarantees the future of the health system" and will spur the French economy by helping to redress public finances.
