1 Bears clawed back on warnings by Cardinal Health and others, along with Wall St. worries about Intel, Boeing and Yahoo. Yahoo and Web search firms also fell on Microsoft's search plans. Saddam Charged In Iraqi Court
2Ex-Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein was charged with 7 war crimes. Saddam, calling himself "president of Iraq," denied all charges. In Fallujah, U.S. jets hit another suspected safehouse of terror mastermind Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. Polish forces say they found 16 or 17 warheads with mustard or sarin gas. And Jordan's King Abdullah said he would send troops to Iraq, if asked.
Oil Surges On Heating Oil Buys
3August crude jumped $1.69 to $38.74 a barrel, hitting a 1-month peak intraday. Huge buying in heating oil futures fueled the gains as traders cited tight supplies. Fears of a July 4th attack also played a role. The day's gain followed Wednesday's $1.39 jump from 11-week lows on lower U.S. stockpiles and Saudi comments that prices were fair. More on B13
