David Beckham will take a reduced role in forthcoming Vodafone Live! advertising, following the decision to hand the brand's creative brief to J. Walter Thompson.
JWT won the business this week after a shoot-out against its fellow roster agency Wieden & Kennedy. W&K will remain on the roster.
JWT will now deliver the global creative template for the account, which spends pounds 18 million in the UK. The agency is expected to continue to use Beckham, but in a less central role than the one he occupies in the 'how are you?' series of ads by W&K.
It is the first time JWT has been given the opportunity to have a crack at taking the global creative lead on a Vodafone Live! brief.
