Damian O'Malley, the one-time founder of Woollams Moira Gaskin O'Malley, is returning to the UK to complete the new management line-up at McCann Erickson as the executive planning director, UK and Ireland, and the vice-president of planning, Europe.
O'Malley returns after 12 years in the US and Ireland. Most recently, he was running the Dublin office of the brand development company Brand Architecture International, part of the TBWA Group.
Brand Architecture International grew out of an independent company O'Malley helped to set up four years ago. The company, O'Malley and Hogan, was bought by TBWA in 2001.
He joins Rupert Howell, the McCann chairman, Stephen Whyte, the chief executive, and Robert Campbell, the executive creative director.
The now-complete management team is charged with turning around the fortunes of the UK agency, which has lost several key clients over the past year.
