Jul. 1--Retail investors have called on the Securities and Exchange Commission to investigate the delisting of the New Imperial Hotel in late 2002 following its takeover by whiskey tycoon Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi.
Questions have been raised regarding the transparency of the delisting, which occurred after New Imperial was taken over by TCC Holding Co, a company controlled by Mr Charoen.
Protesting investors, who declined to be identified, said TCC had previously indicated during shareholder meetings of New Imperial that no move to delist the firm would be made within 12 months after the tender.
