Jul. 1--The government, in considering a plan to loosen the cap on the price of diesel oil, has ordered an urgent economic impact study from the Energy Policy and Planning Office and the National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB).
Energy Minister Prommin Lertsuridej said the government wanted to know what kinds of repercussions it could expect if the cap on diesel oil prices were to be lifted periodically in line with global prices.
The study -- to be completed within two weeks -- also includes an examination of the impact on the government's fiscal status if the diesel oil price was to stay capped until the ...
