Feb. 6--Thainox Steel Ltd has received government approval to increase the price of stainless steel by 28 percent to 105.94 baht per kilogramme, effective this week.
Thainox had sought a new price of 112.50 baht per kilogramme, up from 82.50 baht, citing the rising cost of raw materials. However, the Commerce Ministry approved a smaller increase after a thorough study of movements in raw material prices, said Siripol Yodmuangcharoen, director-general of the ministry's Internal Trade Department.
