Feb. 6--The Government Pension Fund, one of the country's largest institutional investors, expects returns of 30 percent to 40 percent from its equity holdings this year.
Visit Tantisunthorn, the GPF secretary-general, said the fund posted returns on its equity investments as high as 130 percent last year, well outperforming the overall market.
The Stock Exchange of Thailand was one of the best-performing markets in the world in 2003, gaining 117 percent on the year.
