Jan. 5--The sugar industry's 20-year-old net revenue sharing system between sugarcane planters and millers is currently under review.

"Given the present environment surrounding the industry, be it production technology or the management system, it [the revenue sharing system] deserves a change," said Industry Minister Pinit Charusombat.

Under the existing system, planters receive a 70 percent share of revenue from sugar sales in both the domestic and export markets after deducting all expenditures from the operations and the remaining 30 percent goes to the millers.
