Jan. 5--The Finance Ministry plans to lend up to 10 billion baht to neighbouring countries over the next 10 years as part of a broader regional development plan, according to Kitti Limskul, finance vice-minister.
He said the funds, which might appear high at first glance, paled in comparison to the money spent each year on health services, relocation, drug suppression and treatment and other programmes related to regional issues.
"If we address these issues, even just the issue of drugs, it will lead to large savings in the future," Dr Kitti said.
