Jan. 7--Thai shares fell 2.69 percent yesterday in a sell-off of blue-chip stocks as investors looked to take profits following nearly three weeks of steady gains.
The Stock Exchange of Thailand index closed at 769.68 points, down 21.25 points, in heavy trade worth 61.93 billion baht. The SET50 index fell 3.42 percent to 50.52 points. Leading trade were the energy sector, down 3.98 percent; banks, off 5.07 percent; and financials, up 2.22 percent.
