Jan. 7--The local automotive industry has mapped out projects to strengthen its competitiveness in its effort to help fulfill the country's ambitious goal of becoming a regional hub for the sector.
The projects include the establishment of a human resources development (HRD) centre and an automotive testing centre as well as initiating steps to promote the local parts industry under the auto cluster scheme.
According to Ninnart Chaithirapinyo, the vice-chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries, the HRD centre would play a key role in developing the Thai automotive industry.
