Jan. 8--The government's commitment to multilateral trade rules under the World Trade Organisation (WTO) has affected all Thais, but only a few people have engaged in the public debate on how this relates to the national interest.
To encourage Thais to get involved and better understand the implications of global trade, the Thailand Research Fund (TRF) plans to spend 50 million baht over the next five years on the WTO Watch project, according to the Thammasat University lecturers responsible for the project.
