Jan. 9--Thai shares rebounded strongly yesterday following two straight losing sessions, gaining 3.01 percent on broad-based buying of blue-chip stocks and a strong rally in the technology and finance sectors.
The Stock Exchange of Thailand index closed at 773.55 points, up 22.58 points, on turnover worth 56.9 billion baht. The SET50 index of large-cap stocks rose 3.43 percent to 50.42 points.
Analysts said that following the combined 40-point decline over Tuesday and Wednesday, investors turned to snap up bargains and were buoyed by positive sentiment in overseas markets.
