Thailand Prime Minister Promises Support for Multimedia.

Jan. 9--Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra said his government would throw its full support behind promoting the local animation and multimedia industry in the hope that it will open doors and generate high incomes for talented young Thais.
In his opening address at the Thailand Animation and Multimedia 2004 event at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre, the prime minister said animation and multimedia, which use cutting-edge technology to create content for the entertainment industry, offered a good opportunity for qualified Thais to increase the nation's exports, just like the One Tambon, One Product scheme.
