Jan. 9--The government is preparing to revive measures to cap diesel oil prices now that they have edged up close to the previous trigger levels, with a tendency to rise further.
The continued increases in fuel prices in the world market have pushed up local gasoline prices beyond previous trigger levels and diesel oil prices close to their capped levels set early last year.
Local diesel oil is now priced at 14.69 baht per litre, close to the 14.79-baht level the government had capped from Feb 8 to March 19 last year. The premium petrol price, meanwhile, is now at 17.79 baht a litre, exceeding the earlier capped price of 16.99 baht.
