Jun. 26--MAPLE, N.C. -- Gov. Michael F. Easley lauded the ground-breaking plans of Tidewater Auto Auction during a ceremony Friday at the Currituck County Airport.
Easley spoke briefly before a group of about 50 people, including officials with the county and Tidewater Auto Auction. Rep. W.C. "Bill" Owens, D-Pasquotank, flew into Currituck from Raleigh with Easley.
"These jobs are going to be good jobs," Easley said in a conference room at the Currituck airport terminal.
The company announced plans last year to build a 45,000-square-foot, 10-bay facility on a 100-acre site a few miles south of Moyock on N.C. ...
