Feb. 5--Bird flu has so far shown little impact on Thailand's tourism industry, but growing concern among Asians -- famous for their sensitivity to health scares -- could aggravate the situation.
Vichit Na Ranong, chairman of the Tourism Federation of Thailand, said that a few cancellations had occurred, mostly from Asian travellers.
"The decision by most Asian tourists not to travel is based on irrational fears instead of actual facts. Therefore, it could hurt the industry if governments don't communicate with each other properly," said Mr Vichit.
