Feb. 5--Three state banks have agreed to offer a total of 25 billion baht in loans to small- and medium-sized poultry farmers and entrepreneurs, starting on March 1.
Only chicken farmers will receive assistance at the moment. Loans to duck and other poultry farmers will be considered later if damages warrant it.
Also, those affected by the bird flu and the culling of millions of birds nationwide over the past several weeks will be allowed to suspend debt payments to state banks for up to six months.
