Feb. 5--Around 12 percent of the debt suspended under a restructuring programme by the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Co-operatives cannot be serviced, representing around 5.2 billion baht in funds.

But the government insists that the three-year debt programme, scheduled to end next month, had proven successful overall, with hundreds of thousands of farmers benefiting from the respite given in servicing debt by revamping their finances and improving production methods.
