Feb. 4--Unocal Thailand confirmed that it was in negotiations with Bangchak Petroleum Plc about selling the Thai refiner more crude and said that hopefully an agreement would be reached soon.
Unocal chairman Randy Howard said new terms regarding crude purchase contracts were being discussed with "all domestic refiners" including Bangchak. Local refiners are seeking to utilise a higher proportion of domestic crude due to the higher margins associated with it when compared to imported crude.
