Feb. 4--Handset maker Motorola has set its sights on regaining the number one spot in the local mobile phone market over the next three to five years by launching a variety of new products.

US-based Motorola expects to capture at least a 30 percent share of new handset sales this year, which in numerical terms is expected to total between six and seven million. Last year, it held a 15 percent share of the market.

"We are now ready to make a comeback and be number one in the Thai mobile phone market again within the next five years," said Prasert Charoonpaisal, the newly appointed country manager of Motorola ...
