Feb. 4--National Finance expects its hire-purchase operations to expand 20 percent this year due to stronger new and used car sales.
The company projects loan growth of 12 percent overall this year. In 2003, NFS leased 110,000 cars with loans of 45.8 billion baht, representing 79 percent new cars and 21 percent used cars.
As of Dec 31, the company had a total portfolio of 190,000 car leases with outstanding loans of 62 billion baht.
Managing director Bundit Cheevaghanarak said NFS expected to lease 132,000 cars with loans of 54.5 billion baht.
