Feb. 12--For Montgomery shoppers in need of a charge, a new store on the Atlanta Highway will provide battery power for a wide range of products -- from cars and airplanes to wheelchairs and lawn mowers.

Battery Source, which opened recently on Montgomery's east side, is the eighth store in a family-owned chain that is making the most of an increasingly cordless world.

The business began in 1958 as Ray Glass Batteries, a wholesale operation based in Thomasville, Ga., that sold car, truck and marine batteries to parts stores, service stations and garages.
