Mar. 1--The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has set its sights on a new targeted travellers, factory workers and alumni of universities and associations, as part of an effort to boost domestic tourism.

The TAT will ask tour operators to specifically design packages to serve particular groups of travellers from affordable tour programmes for factory workers to high-end programmes for affluent travellers.

The effort is part of the TAT's policy to assist the domestic travel market at a time when international arrivals have been affected by the outbreak of bird flu.
