Mar. 1--CELLULAR OPERATOR SCORES HIT WITH LOW-COST PREPAID CARD: Cellular operator Advanced Info Service (AIS) says it sold one million of its new 40-baht prepaid cards on their first day of introduction last week.
The "Freedom Everyday" card for the One-2-Call service is valid for two days and has seven-day standby time. Target customers are daily wage earners, teenagers and university students.
Rival DTAC has responded with 20-baht cards, having introduced a 50-baht version earlier through 50,000 retail stores of Saha Pathanapibul and at 3,000 cosmetics counters of Saha affiliate ICC International.
