Directors Approve Restructuring Plan for Thai Community Bank, Agency.

Mar. 1--Directors of the Government Savings Bank have approved an internal restructuring plan aimed at furthering the state agency's positioning plan as a community bank.
The restructuring, said by one senior official as the most drastic in the bank's 80-plus year history, reflected the realities of the bank's changed operating model.
For decades, the bank has relied on the purchase of government and state enterprise bonds issued to finance state spending and investment for the bulk of its revenues.
