TelecomAsia's Net Loss Is Up, but Outlook Good for New Investments.

Mar. 2--TelecomAsia yesterday reported a net loss of 5.7 billion baht for 2003, up from 5.4 billion the previous year, on 28 billion baht consolidated revenue, up 8.4 percent.

Excluding its cellular subsidiary TA Orange, the Bangkok fixed-line operator's net loss was 2.8 billion baht, down from 4.9 billion in 2002.

The increase in revenue was attributed to an increased revenue contribution and cost controls by TA Orange, which reached EBITDA break-even for the first time in September 2003 and contributed 107 million baht in the fourth quarter.
