Mar. 3--Mobile phone operator DTAC is fuelling price-cutting in the saturated postpaid market with the launch of a new promotion that gives heavy phone users progressive discount rates.
The move is a direct challenge to rival Advanced Info Service's Digital Phone Co which launched a similar budget package last week.
Sigve Brekke, co-chief executive officer of DTAC, said he was confident that with the new service, the company would keep its existing subscriber base and attract users from other cellular networks.
