Electricity Generating Plc Tax Dispute to Be Cleared in Thailand.

Mar. 4--A tax dispute between the Revenue Department and Electricity Generating Plc was expected to be cleared within the next one or two weeks, according to Finance Minister Suchart Jaovisidha.
He said the Revenue Department was expediting its investigation into value-added tax payments by Electricity Generating Plc (Egco) to avoid any potential impact on the planned privatisation of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand.
Egco is potentially facing a charge of up to three billion baht based on taxes incorrectly paid on power purchasing agreements made between two of its subsidiaries with Egat.
