Mar. 4--Philips Electronic (Thailand) Co sales grew 22 percent in its domestic appliance and personal care business unit last year, with irons and blenders two categories contributing to the better-than-expected results.

The company, which had expected 16 percent growth in 2003, is projecting sales in this unit to expand 25 percent this year, led by steamed irons, electric shavers and blenders.

Praphan Prakobkit general manager of Philips Electronics (Thailand)'s Domestic Appliances and Personal Care Products Division, said the company's market share last year in terms of volume increased to 47 percent of the market, worth 1.5 million in unit sales per year.
