Mar. 4--The Securities and Exchange Commission said it would closely monitor stock investments made through foreign brokers even as some were issuing reports recommending that clients reduce their weighting in Thai shares.
"If we find suspicious actions made by foreign brokers, we will ask their local representatives to clarify," an SEC statement released yesterday said.
Authorities have noted that while several foreign brokers had recently reduced their weightings in the Thai market, net foreign buying was positive over the past two days.
