Mar. 4--Energy Minister Prommin Lertsuridej proposed that shares from the listing of Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (Egat) be allocated to electricity users nationwide.
This proposal comes as protests by Egat union members against the privatisation plan moved into their second straight week.
At the same time, the government has continued to insist that the current Egat privatisation schedule would go ahead unchanged, with an initial public offering to be held at the end of April and a listing on the Stock Exchange of Thailand in May.
